Preliminary results of an ongoing multicenter trial
BPD is a hard & difficult to treat disorder
Current treatments are often insufficient
Nowadays treatment as usual is outpatient APT, carries disadvantages:
   -high drop out rates
   -limited effect
   -ongoing suicide risk
Modern focus APT, like TFP, claims considerably more success.
An alternative for APT is CBT, which is gaining popularity. It  pretends to have a lower drop out rate & to be more effective.

Brings us to the focus of this study, a comparison between APT & CBT
To be specific: the optimalised form of APT is TFP, Kernbergs most updated outpatient treatment for BPD (taught by Frank Yeomans) and SFT developed by Jeffrey Young. For the clearness of this presentation I will continue to talk about APT and CBT

Before I tell you about the design I'll give a short description of the core elements of both therapies
